RARE Vintage US Navy Fouled Anchor China Double Handled Coffee Cup & Saucer, in Like New Condition! Underside of cup reads “Vintage Sterling Vitrified China - East Liverpool, Ohio U.S.A. E-8.”
Cup features a blue anchor, and saucer features a nautical rope knot. Super cute set !
Note that the "fouled anchor" design indicates use by Wardroom Officers (Lieutenants to Commanders). This type of dinnerware was common in the US Navy from World War I through the Vietnam era and would make a great gift for the Navy personnel in your life (or for nautical theme collectors!). This is highly collectible and very hard to find the double handle version.
